[EURO 2012 COUNTDOWN] Defender Domenico Criscito has dropped out of Italy's Euro 2012 squad after becoming the subject of a match-fixing investigation. The move came hours after Italian police searched his room at the Azzurri's Coverciano training camp. Meanwhile, Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque selected Alvaro Negredo over Valencia star Roberto Soldado, and Germany dropped four players. Gareth Barry has been ruled out of England's squad. For how the 16 squads look ahead of Tuesday's UEFA roster deadline ...

"I am not taking Criscito because he would have been under pressure that no human being can bear," Italy coach Cesare Prandelli said. "The other reason is that he could have been summoned by the prosecutor at any moment, before a match."

The police also talked with another Italy defender, Leonardo Bonucci, though he is not under formal investigation. Bonucci remained with the Italy squad.

-- Spain coach Del Bosque selected Alvaro Negredo over Valencia star Roberto Soldado for the final striker spot in his 23-player squad. Negredo is one of only four players who weren't on Spain's 2010 World Cup championship team.

-- Germany coach Joachim Loew has dropped Brazilian-born forward Cacau, Sven Bender and teenager Julian Draxler from his squad, along with keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who gave up five goals in the 5-3 loss to Switzerland on Saturday.

-- Gareth Barry has been ruled out of England's squad with a lower abdomen tear and replaced by Everton defender Phil Jagielka called up as a replacement.
