Galaxy's Munoz leads U-17s in Costa Rica

[COPA SAPRISSA] The U.S. under-17 national team closed out group play Wednesday at the Copa Saprissa in Costa Rica with a 3-0 loss to Mexico, its first defeat in five games. The USA finished second in its group to advance to Friday's semifinals.

Rolando Munoz
, a 15-year-old midfielder from the Los Angeles Galaxy's academy program, leads the team with three goals in his first stint with the U-17s. He had goals each of the three U.S. wins: 3-0 over Linafa (Costa Rica), 3-2 over Costa Rica and 6-0 over Chorrillo FC of Panama.

The other 10 goals in group play were scored by 10 different players.

The USA played to a 1-1 tie with Honduras in its other game
