Brazil's Corinthians won its first Copa Libertadores title thanks to a 2-0 win over Argentina's Boca Juniors in the second leg of the final for a 3-1 win on aggregate.
Corinthians,
coached by Tite, treated its home crowd of 40,000 to two goals by Emerson in the 54th and 72nd minute.
Boca was aiming for a seventh Libertadores title in
its 10th final appearance. It was Corinthians first trip to the final and it went undefeated, leaving in its wake Santos in the semifinals and Vasco da Gama in the quarters.
The victory
sparked huge celebrations in Sao Paulo.
