Houston Dynamo president Chris Canett says the club is set to let defender Geoff Cameron leave for English Premier League club Stoke City on a reported transfer
fee of $2.7 million.
"The club is in favor of this transfer, and we are in support of it happening," said Canett. "We will continue to work with the league as they go through the process
and make their decision."
Now it's up to MLS Commissioner Don Garber and the league owners to decide if they'll let the two-time Dynamo All-Star go to the EPL.
Stoke City submitted a bid for Cameron, 26, last month, and it made a formal written offer last week. The Dynamo would receive two-thirds of the transfer fee on Cameron. Midfielders Stuart
Holden and Ricardo Clark left the Dynamo for Europe on free transfers after their contracts expired following the 2009 season.
