[MLS TRANSACTIONS] Scotland national team captain Kenny Miller became the latest player to join the Vancouver Whitecaps' attack as he signed as their third Designated Player just two days after French forward Sebastien Le Toux was traded to the New York Red Bulls.

Miller is the second Scot to join the 'Caps as a DP after Barry Robson. Frenchman Eric Hassli is the Whitecaps' third DP.

Miller has 60 caps and 16 goals for Scotland. He most recently played at Welsh club Cardiff City.

“He has been a proven goalscorer with big clubs in Scotland and played in the England Premier League," Whitecaps manager Martin Rennie said in a club statement. "His speed, energy, and work rate will be a valuable asset to our club, as we look to have a strong second half of the season in MLS.”
