[WPSL ELITE] The Chicago Red Stars knocked off the top-seed Boston Breakers, 3-1, and advanced to the final of WPSL Elite against host the Western New York Flash, which scored two late goals to earn a 2-1 win over the New York Fury at Sahlen’s Stadium Wednesday night.

Lori Chalupny and Ella Masar had a goal and an assist for the Red Stars, and Lauren Fowlkes added the third goal.

The Fury controlled the other semifinal for the first 70 minutes, taking the lead in the 10th minute on an Allie Long goal.

But in the 78th minute, substitute Katy Frierson scored the equalizer and two minutes later fed Laura Heyboer for the go-ahead goal.
