Game officials didn’t see Colombian Lady Andrade punch U.S. forward Abby Wambach during the USA’s 3-0 win on Saturday, but FIFA handed Andrade a two-game ban afterreviewing the 39th minute incident.
Wambach, who suffered a black-eye, had called on FIFA to take action while Andrade said it was “an accident.”
The suspension kept Andrade out ofColombia’s 1-0 loss to France that ended Colombia’s chances to reach the quarterfinal.
