[SUMMER OF SOCCER] The Los Angeles Galaxy and Real Madrid drew a record crowd of 30,317 Thursday night at the Home Depot Center for their friendly won by the Spanish champions, 5-1.

The Merengues needed only 85 seconds to open the scoring on a goal by Argentine Gonzalo Higuain in the first game of their four-game U.S. tour.

Angel Di Maria, Jose Maria Callejon, Morata and Jese also scored for Real Madrid.

Galaxy defender David Junior Lopes cut the deficit to 2-1 in the 23rd minute.

Real Madrid will face Mexico's Santos in Las Vegas on Sunday. The game will be a homecoming for Santos forward Herculez Gomez.
