The Portland Timbers remain winless in their last six games, but at least their 1-1 tie with FC Dallas ended a five-game losing streak and a three-game run without managing a goal.
Jack Jewsbury's goal ended Portland's scoreless streak and equalized the game in the 79th minute, but that was all the Timbers could muster despite playing with one-man advantage
for the final 42 minutes in front of a 20,438 home crowd. Dallas' Zach Loyd was ejected after his second yellow card in the 52nd minute.
"Realistically, we should've won,"
Portland goalkeeper Troy Perkins said. "There's no dusting this one underneath the rug."
Gavin Wilkinson, Portland general manager and interim coach, said:
"I don't think any of the guys hung their heads. They kept working hard. Everything that we have gone through, I think it's a tremendous sign -- we didn't give up."
