[CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE] Regional play continues with Day 2 of the Concacaf Champions League group stage. Loser of four games in a row, Real Salt Lake already finds itself in a must-win situation Tuesday after falling at Herediano on Day 1. RSL coach Jason Kreis says only one result will be acceptable against Tauro FC of Panama. The Houston Dynamo and Los Angeles open play this week against Salvadoran opponents, while the Seattle Sounders and Toronto FC are off.

REAL SALT LAKE-TAURO FC. Tauro is playing in the Concacaf Champions League  for the fourth time but has never advanced out of the group stage. The Panama City club makes its 2012-13 debut. After facing him last season, FC Dallas signed  21-year-old Tauro defender Carlos Rodriguez. Tauro features three members of the Panama national team: midfielders Juan Perez and Marcos Sanchez and forward Edwin Aguilar.

FAS-HOUSTON DYNAMO. Having lost to Olimpia of Honduras, 3-0, in its opening game, FAS will need to win Wednesday at the Estadio Cuscatlan to stay in contention. FAS just added American Gerson Mayen, formerly of Chivas USA and the Montreal Impact. FAS also features our members of the Salvadoran national team -- defender Elder Figueroa, midfielders Alexander Larin and Edwin Sanchez and forward Ricardo Ulloa. American fans will remember Larin as the player who punched Terrence Boyd during March's USA-El Salvador under-23 qualifying match that eliminated the Americans from the Olympics.

LA GALAXY-ISIDRO METAPAN. Metapan, currently tied for first place with Alianza in El Salvador's Torneo Apertura, opened play with a 3-1 win over the NASL's Puerto Rico Islanders thanks to three second-half goals by Nicolas Munoz. The Jaguares also feature El Salvador national team veterans Alfredo Pacheco, Ramon Sanchez and Eliseo Quintanilla (ex-D.C. United).
