MIDWEST. Sophomore Eriq Zavaleta continued his scoring tear with a pair of goals in No. 8 Indiana's 3-0 win over Clemson at the adidas/IU Credit Union Classic. The former U.S. U-17 has five goals in three goals.

-- Junior Eric Pothast scored his second straight game-winning goal as Marquette held off UIC for a 1-0 win and improve its record to 3-0-0.

SOUTH. Charlotte rallied from a 1-0 deficit to tie UAB, 1-1, thanks to Donnie Smith's blast from 20 yards out. Kofi Gyawu had put UAB ahead in the 39th minute. The 49ers dominated play with a 26-9 advantage in shots and 14-1 advantage in corner kicks.

-- Dayton’s Greg Enstone slid a shot under Furman goalkeeper Doug Ryan in the 87th minute to lift the Flyers to a 3-2 victory over the No. 17 Paladins in the opening match of the Nike/Aaron Olitsky Memorial Classic. Enstone’s second goal of the match improved Dayton to 3-0-0 on the season while Furman suffered its first defeat.

-- Freshman Michael Gamble connected on two second-half goals to break a halftime tie and help No. 18 Wake Forest defeat Boston University, 3-1, before 2,682 fans at Spry Stadium.

-- Trailing by a goal late in the second half, Santa Clara rallied to score twice, first when Erik Hurtado converted a penalty kick, followed by a brilliant shot from Ryan Masch, to beat Duke, 2-1, at the Blue Devils' John Rennie/Nike Invitational Tournament.

WEST. After coming from behind to take a 2-1 lead into halftime, No. 4 UC Santa Barbara was forced to settle for a 2-2 tie with Oregon State. Dion Acoff scored 25 yards and Javier Castro added a header to put the Gauchos ahead but Alex Penny scored from 15 yards out in the 72nd minute to earn the Beavers the draw.
