[CREIGHTON-AKRON] No. 13 Creighton and No. 2 Akron played to a 1-1 draw on the opening day of play at the Ameritas Classic, the Zips' first game since their coach, Caleb Porter, announced that he'd take the Portland Timbers head coaching job in 2013.

Creighton took the lead in the 24th minute as junior Sean Kim delivered his third goal of the season with a shot that glanced off the post.

In the 57th minute, Akron broke through for the game-tying goal when freshman Alfred Koroma headed in a crossing pass from DeAndre Yeldin.

Akron appeared to have won the game in the 97th minute, but a shot by Aodhan Quinn was waived off for offside.

The draw extended Creighton's home unbeaten streak to 17 games.
