Bruins look sluggish in 0-0 tie

[UCLA-WASHINGTON STATE] Coming off 7-0 and 4-0 wins in its final non-conference games, No. 3 UCLA looked to have found its scoring touch, but the Bruins could only manage a 0-0 tie with Washington State Thursday evening at Drake Stadium in the Pac-12 opener for both teams.

"I think where we lacked was in our decision-making," said UCLA head coach B.J. Snow. "It was a little bit slow, especially in our attacking half, which was something we did not experience last week. Our legs looked a little heavy. We'll just learn from this experience and move forward."

The Bruins dominated the game with an 18-5 edge in shots, including 5-0 in the two overtime periods, but could not get on the board.

Cougar goalkeeper Gurveen Clair made seven saves, including a big one in the 105th minute off a shot by Caprice Dydasco that looked destined for goal until Clair leaped up to tip it over the crossbar.
