Young Brazil national team star Neymar scored in the first half and helped Santos beat Universidad de Chile, 2-0, on Wednesday to win its first Recopa Sudamericana, on aggregate by the same score.

"It's another title for us," said Neymar, who also missed a penalty kick. "I'm extremely happy. A lot of people downplayed this competition but we took it very seriously, it was a trophy we had never won."

The Recopa is played between the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana champions from the previous year.

Santos, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary, has won the Campeonato Paulista in each of the last three years as well as the 2010 Copa Brasil, 2011 Copa Libertadores and now the 2012 Recopa to give it at least two cup titles each season.
