Hundreds of fans of CSKA Sofia gathered near the northern town of Pravets on one of Bulgaria's main highways and set up a road block to protest the club's financial problems.
They have asked for the government to strip the club's owner, Titan Sport, of control. CSKA Sofia has faced a three-year UEFA ban for non-payment of outstanding debts.
Fans threatened to stage a roadblock every weekend until Titan Sport quits. CSKA has won 31 league titles and reached the semifinals in Europe three times, most recently in 1989, but has struggled in recent years as it experienced serious financial troubles.
"The owners assured me that they will deal with the problems, so I believe everything will be fine," CSKA coach Stoycho Mladenov told reporters. "I'm looking forward to the [UEFA] decision."
