U.S. U-17s settle for second behind Mexico

[AGS CUP] The USA came in second place behind Mexico at the AGS Cup for under-17 national teams in Spain when the teams played to a 1-1 tie on Saturday. The U.S. U-17s finished with wins over UAE, Morocco and Canada, a loss to Azerbaijan and the tie with Mexico.

It was the fourth meeting of the year between the USA and Mexico.

Richie Williams' U-17s won, 1-0, in the fifth-place game at the Montaigu Minimes tournament in France, while Mexico won 3-0 and 3-1 (in the final) this summer at the Copa Saprissa in Costa Rica.

In 2011, the USA also finished second at the AGS Cup, a round-robin tournament.
