"I do have a problem when you put two minutes of extra time on and they take the corner at two minutes and 30 seconds at the end of the game. So it's like, 'OK, we're going to give them another chance to score.'"

-- Seattle Sounders coach Sigi Schmid seems to be accusing referee Ricardo Salazar of adding stoppage time to benefit the opponent during Wednesday's scoreless tie with Real Salt Lake. (Seattle Times)

What a lame argument. Sigi's own player faked injury during those two minutes. That's why the referee added the time.

Jeez. Grow up and don't concede the corner. Seconds don't matter in soccer. Cutting an attack off because of the second hand has always been bulls***. Salazar did perfect.

Schmid needs to shut up, he's a big whiner.

The often ugly, violent and mean-spirited play in MLS is the fault of the players and COACHES. The referees are often presented with an impossible task. My perception is that the referees are more in accord with the spirit of the beautiful game, than many of the players and most of the coaches. Hope Schmid is suspended for a month.
