Chelsea legend Frank Lampard could be on his way to the Los Angeles Galaxy at the beginning of next year, according to reports in England. Lampard, who came on as a substitute in stoppage time in the Blues’ 4-2 win against Tottenham on Saturday, still harbors the ambition to play for England at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, but he knows that that won’t happen unless he is starting matches every week.

According to the Daily Star, the 34-year-old is ready to sign a two-year deal with Major League Soccer and the LA Galaxy in January, and Chelsea will facilitate the departure by allowing him to leave for no fee. Lampard’s Chelsea contract is up at the end of this season.
