[CENTENARY COPA AMERICA] The USA will host the biggest international tournament since the 1994 World Cup when it organizes the 16-team Centenary Copa America in
2016. Conmebol, the South American soccer confederation, confirmed plans for the tournament to mark the 100th anniversary of the South American championship following a meeting on Wednesday in
Buenos Aires.
The 16 teams will include Conmebol's 10 members, the USA, Mexico and four other Concacaf teams (to be determined by their finish at the 2015 Gold Cup).
Both
Concacaf and Conmebol will host regional championships in 2015.
