[DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY SPOTLIGHT] Within two weeks in October, 17-year-old Jack McBean scored goals for the Los Angeles Galaxy in Development Academy play, the MLS Reserve League and the Concacaf Champions League.

McBean struck twice in a 6-0 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps that gave the Galaxy its first-ever Reserve League division title.

The following weekend, the Newport Beach, Calif., native scored in a 7-0 Galaxy win over Strikers FC in Academy Western Conference play in a 25-minute appearance off the bench. (Justin Dhillon scored a hat trick in the win).

McBean capped his super October with two goals in the Galaxy’s 3-2 Concacaf Champions League win in El Salvador over Isidro Metapan Oct. 25. (*Video below)

In four Academy games this season, McBean has scored five goals for the Eddie Soto-coached Galaxy’s U-17/18 squad, which has a 4-0-1 record and sits atop the conference standings along with 5-0-1 Real Salt Lake.
