[AMERICANS ABROAD] Midweek was reserved for cup action across much of Europe. It took only two minutes for Oguchi Onyewu to score in his first start for Malaga in its 4-3 win over Cacereno in Spain's Copa del Rey. Clint Dempsey missed a penalty kick in stoppage time that would have evened Tottenham's Capital One Cup match at Norwich City. Eric Lichaj had an assist on Christian Benteke's late winner in Aston Villa's 3-2 win at Swindon Town.
