[NORTHEASTERN-BOSTON COLLEGE] Junior Dante Marini's first goal of the season in the 14th minute gave Northeastern a 1-0
win over Boston College in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. It was the Huskies' first win over the Eagles in 13 games.
Boston College finished with a 17-10 edge in shots but could
not beat senior goalkeeper Oliver Blum, who tied a career-high with nine saves.
Blum's biggest save came in the 81st minute when he stopped Stefan Carter on a shot from point-blank range.
The Huskies tied the program record for most shutouts in a season and broke a school record for most wins
in a season. The win also extended Northeastern's unbeaten streak at Parsons Field to 16 games.
The Huskies advance to the second round at Connecticut on Sunday.
