Report: Cristiano Ronaldo Even More 'Sad'

Spanish newspaper AS reports that Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is still unhappy at the club, and is in fact closer to leaving than he is to signing an contract extension. Earlier this season, Ronaldo announced to the world that he was “sad” with certain people at the club.

According to AS, the Portuguese feels he is constantly being undermined by the Real Madrid hierarchy, and portrayed as the bad guy. Now, following the 2-1 win away to Levante last weekend, the situation has deteriorated.

It’s all a matter of PR, really: Ronaldo is apparently upset with how the club ignored his eye injury in its press statements after that game. Instead of calling for more protection for its players, which is something Ronaldo feels Barcelona would have done for star striker Lionel Messi, Real issued a statement defending the actions of defender Pepe, who was involved in several post-game incidents.
