U.S. U-17s play to 4-4 tie with Brazil

[NIKE INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLIES] The USA played to a 4-4 tie with Brazil in their opening game at Nike International Friendlies on Wednesday at Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.

Rubio Rubin, recently named the U.S. Soccer Young Male Athlete of the Year, scored two goals and added two assists, a back heel pass to Corey Baird and setup of Ahinga Selemani’s second-half goal.

The USA led 3-1 and 4-3 but could not hold on to beat Brazil, which it had defeated a year ago to win the 2011 Nike International Friendlies.

Portugal earned a 4-3 victory against Turkey earlier Wednesday.

The USA faces Turkey on Friday and Portugal on Sunday.
