[NCAA DIVISION II TOURNAMENT] A year after losing in the title game, Lyon won the NCAA Division II men's championship with a 3-2 win over Saginaw Valley State
in the final in Evans, Ga. The title was the fifth for the Fighting Knights.

Lynn took the lead with two goals off set pieces in the
first half, the first by Johnny Mertl off a corner kick and the second on Yannick Braeuer's header.
The
game seemed to be over when Anthony Desperito made it 3-0 for the Fighting Knights on a breakaway in the 67th minute.
But Saginaw Valley State got
goals from Zach Walega and Lachlan Savage in less than five minutes to cut the deficit to 3-2 in the 83rd minute.
Lynn got two goals from Julian Halder and rolled to a 4-1 win over Mercyhurst in the semifinals. Saginaw Valley State defeated Simon Fraser, 3-1, in the
other semifinal.
