[MLS RE-ENTRY DRAFT] FC Dallas keeper Kevin Hartman, whose bitter contract dispute with Sporting Kansas City was cited as a need to reform the structure of MLS contracts, is among five former Best XI selections who will enter the MLS Re-Entry Draft that will be held in two stages over the next two Fridays. The others are Conor Casey (Colorado), Juan Pablo Angel (Chivas USA), Justin Mapp (Montreal) and Danny Califf (Chivas USA).

After the 2012 season, FC Dallas indicated it would like to re-sign the 38-year-old Hartman, who is out of contract.

The players are either out of contract or did not have their options picked up.

The re-entry process was a negotiated agreement between the league and union to allow a veteran player out of contract or with options remaining on his contract a manner to achieve a semblance of freedom. Before then, a player's rights were retained within MLS even if he was out of contract.

Clubs may still sign their re-entry eligible players through Thursday.
