[NCAA DIVISION II TOURNAMENT] Chelsea Palmer's goal gave West Florida a 1-0 win over UC San Diego to win the NCAA Division II championship for the first time. It wasn't her first national title, though. Palmer, who also had the winner in the 2-1 win over defending champion Saint Rose in the semifinals, won the NJCAA Division III title at Richland College and the NJCAA Division I championship at Tyler Junior College before transferring to West Florida.

Sarah Story, the Gulf South Conference Player of the Year after transferring from Darton College, made four saves to preserve the win for Argonauts, who were outplayed in the first half but came to life after intermission.

Palmer broke the deadlock in the 77th minute when she scored off a rebound after Sashana Campbell’s initial shot was stopped.
