[MAKING A LIST] Only 15 American have played in the UEFA Champions League proper since its launch in 1992. Jovan Kirovski was the first American to play in the competition, making two appearances in Borussia Dortmund's run to the 1997 title. The farthest an American has gone in the Champions League is DaMarcus Beasley, who played for PSV in the 2005 semifinals. He leads all players with 22 appearances for PSV and Rangers.
