Chicago and Vancouver sweep three games

[WINTER SHOWCASE: U-15/16s] The Chicago Fire and Vancouver Whitecaps were the only MLS clubs who academy teams went 3-0-0 in U-15/16 play at the Development Academy's Winter Showcase that ended Tuesday.

Other teams to sweep their three games were Texans SC Houston, Solar Chelsea, Orlando City, Real So Cal, FC Boston Bolts, Arsenal FC

The Fire rounded out its time in Florida with an emphatic 3-0 victory over the Portland Timbers Tuesday morning. It got two goals from Alex Underwood and a goal and an assist from Luca Giovine. Underwood also had the winner in a 1-0 victory over PA Classics.

The Vancouver U-16s opened with a 2-1 win over CASL Chelsea FC Academy, getting goals from Dario Zanatta and Terran Campbell. The Whitecaps surged to a 3-0 lead inside 30 minutes against Sporting Kansas City thanks to goals from Matthew Chow, Evan Libke and Aymar Sigue before the rival MLS academy team scored twice to reduce the lead to 3-2 at the half. But Jordan Haynes, Zanatta and Chow each scored within a span of ten minutes to pad the lead and give Vancouver a 6-2 win. In their final game against the Crew, Francesco Saporito and Chow scored to give the 'Caps a 2-1 win.
