[MLS RE-ENTRY DRAFT] The Chicago Fire made the lone selection in the MLS Re-Entry Process Stage One draft, picking up forward Maicon Santos from D.C. United.

The Brazilian had an option declined, so he joins the Fire’s roster under the terms of that option.

He was obtained in January 2012 from FC Dallas and played in 26 games this season (16 starts), tallying seven goals and three assists.

Players not selected are eligible for the Stage Two draft, which will take place on Friday, Dec. 14.

The draft will take place via teleconference with all 19 clubs represented.
