[AMERICANS ABROAD] Clint Dempsey beat U.S. national teammate Tim Howard with a deflected shot from 30 yards, but Howard's Everton prevailed over Spurs, 2-1, on Sunday in the English Premier League.

-- Terrence Boyd scored upped his total to 13 goals in all competitions for Rapid Vienna with a 2-1 win over Wacker Innsbruck. He has scored in four of his last five games and rankings fifth in the Bundesliga with nine goals.

-- Jermaine Jones picked up the first straight red card of his career for a late challenge on Ivorian Ibrahima Traore in Schalke 04's 3-1 loss at VfB Stuttgart. His other seven red cards were all for second yellow cards.

-- Sacha Kljestan added another assist for defending champion Anderlecht in its 5-0 win at Mons that leaves its with a six-point lead at the top of Belgium's Jupiler League.

-- Conor O'Brien scored the opening goal, his third of the season, for Sonderjyske in its 2-2 draw with Brondby in the Danish Superligaen. Clarence Goodson got his first start of Brondby in almost a month.
