[MLS TRANSACTIONS] Peter Luccin joins a growing list of French veterans attracted to MLS. The 33-year-old midfielder has played only seven games over the last three seasons but that didn't prevent FC Dallas from signing him after impressing in two weeks of workouts. FC Dallas will be the 10th club for Luccin, who says he was drawn to Dallas as a big fan of American pro sports ...

Luccin played the majority of his career in Spain but did not play in 2009-10 and 2010-11. He joined Swiss club Lausanne in October 2011 but left after six months.

“Peter came in at the end of the season to be seen by the FC Dallas coaching staff,” FC Dallas head coach Schellas Hyndman said in a statement. “We were in the final two weeks of training, so he was being measured against a group of players who were very fit. He really impressed us. He can cover a lot of space in central midfield and he seldom loses the ball."

Luccin, who has resided in Spain in recent years, will provide FC Dallas help in midfield. Midseason DP acquisition Julian de Guzman was not re-signed, and Daniel Hernandez has retired.

What attracted Luccin to Dallas? "I'll be able to see the Mavericks in the NBA or baseball or football games," he told the French web site So Foot. "They'll all be at my fingertips."
