Phoenix FC to play at ASU soccer stadium

[USL PRO] Phoenix FC, which will begin play in USL PRO in 2013, will play at Arizona State's Sun Devil Soccer Stadium in Tempe. As part of the deal, Phoenix FC will pay for the expansion of seating from 1,000 to 5,000 seats.

Phoenix FC had considered a number of options but sought a location that was centrally located.

"Sun Devil Soccer Stadium in Tempe is beyond ideal," said Phoenix FC chairman Eric Cornwell. "It’s centrally located, adjacent to the freeways and light rail, and it’s right in the middle of a fantastic area for restaurants and entertainment.”

More than 500 deposits have been collected on season tickets.

Scotsman David Robertson will coach Phoenix FC, which has signed six players.
