Chelsea striker Fernando Torres may be back in form, but the Daily Mail says that Blues owner Roman Abramovich will attempt to lure Radamel Falcao to Stamford Bridge by offering the Atletico Madrid striker a staggering $16 million per year contract. According to the report, Falcao’s $323,000 per week deal would eclipse that of Torres, who is currently the club’s highest earner, making $282,000 per week.

Of course, that is just the Colombian’s wages. On top of that, Abramovich and co would need to pay in the region of $78.5 million to buy out his Atletico contract.

Separately, ESPN reports that Falcao is a doubt for Atletico’s top-of-the-standings La Liga clash with Barcelona this Sunday after missing training on Thursday with a muscle problem. Atletico is currently six points behind leader Barca.
