[DATEBOOK] Four preseason tournaments in four states will again provide an opportunity for MLS clubs to gather and test themselves. With the start of the MLS season on March 2, the fourth annual Disney Pro Soccer Classic at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World in Florida, FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup, Carolina Challenge Cup hosted by the USL PRO's Charleston Battery and Portland Timbers Preseason Tournament will be held in February. For more on the tournaments and their schedules ...

The Central Florida Sports Commission and ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World will host the fourth annual Disney Pro Soccer Classic, featuring six MLS clubs, plus Orlando City (USL PRO) and the Tampa Bay Rowdies (NASL).

FC Tucson has partnered with Desert Diamond Casino to host the third consecutive FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup at Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium Feb. 13-23 in Tucson, Ariz. The final will be broadcast live Feb. 23 on NBC Sports Network. Prior to the Desert Diamond Cup, five other MLS teams are all slated to train in the Tucson area and face each other in friendly matches.

The Battery again welcomes three MLS clubs in the 10th annual Carolina Challenge Cup. Houston, which returns in 2013, won the tournament in 2006 and 2007 ahead of its two MLS Cup-winning campaigns.

The Portland Timbers’ second annual preseason tournament, which will be held at JELD-WEN Field Feb. 17-23, will include the lone foreign entrant in the four tournaments, Swedish first division side AIK.
