[VIDEO PICK: Golazos] Once you gander at the second- and third-place finishers in Ukraine for our goal of the season, you won’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to deduce there was major competition.

We’re going to release our top goals of the season, but before we do, we’re sharing the runners-up in one our toughest divisions, Ukraine.

Shakhtar Donetsk wasn’t the only exciting thing in Ukraine this fall, an inordinate number of golazos erupted from from north of the Black Sea. Today's also-rans could be my two favorite volleys all season, and they were both scored in early November by 24-year-olds.

Our third-place smash was part of a hat trick, and if there’s a sweet spot on your boot, Lucas Perez Martinez, a Spaniard playing for Karpaty Lviv, smacks it on this one …

We attempted to share this absurd sharp angle volley by Taison for Metalist Kharkiv before, and are glad to do so now. This fierce effort is reminiscent of Marco Van Basten’s at the 1988 Euros, but it's only good enough for silver in Ukraine. Who will be No. 1?

personally i like this goal from Srna. He made it look easy to get this one through a crowded box. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29oSMScUrmk
