[DISNEY SOCCER SHOWCASE] JFA Academy Fukushima, the Japanese girls academy, and Palm Beach SA MagicJack, coached by Dan Borislow of WPS MagicJack infamy, were among the winners at the annual Disney Soccer Showcase at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The 10 Showcase champions represented 10 different clubs. Eclipse Select was the only club to send two teams to the championship games, while Match Fit Chelsea had three teams advance to placement games ...

The JFA Academy Fukushima, which has boys and girls programs, was shut down following the 2010 earthquake off the northeast coast of Japan and made a temporary move to Shizuoka. The JFA's Academy was based at the J. Village national training center in Naraha-cho, which was transformed into a base for worked battling the nuclear radiation crisis.

The Japanese Football Association's emphasis on technical training has been given as one of the reasons Japan's girls development program is considered a model in the world.

Borislow's daughter Kylie is one of the players on Palm Beach SA MagicJack, which is considered one of the top under-16 girls teams in the country.
