[AMERICANS ABROAD] Midfielder Maurice Edu, who played all of 10 minutes since joining English Premier League club Stoke
City from Rangers in the summer, has been loaned out to Turkish club Bursaspor until the end of the season in a bid to get playing time.
Edu rarely even dressed for the Potters, who
signed him after Rangers' collapse last summer.
Bursaspor is tied for fifth in the Turkish Super Lig at the halfway point. U.S. teammate Jozy
Altidore spent the second half of the 2010-11 season at Bursaspor.
"I'm really glad to be here," Edu told Turkish reporters. "I wasn't at my best form at Stoke City. I have friends
who played here before and they all told me good things about Bursaspor. I've also spoken with Jozy Altidore before i came here. I know how Bursaspor fans are. I was very surprised with the presence
of Bursaspor fans in Scotland back when we'd played against them in the Champions League. Bursaspor and their fans are exciting.
