[AWARDS] Boys high school coaches from Michigan, Montana and Ohio earned NSCAA/Field Turf Coach of the Year honors at the annual awards ceremony at the NSCAA
Convention in Indianapolis.
Coaches of the Year:
Boys High
School Division I: John Conlon, East Kentwood High School (Mich.)
Conlon led the East Kentwood boys soccer team to a 22-1-4 record and the
program’s fourth Division I Michigan state title in the past six seasons.
Boys High School Division II: O'Brien Byrd, Whitefish High School (Mont.)
Since being named head coach of the Whitefish High boys team, Byrd has guided the Bulldogs to
four Class A state championships. This season, they went 15-0.
Boys Private/Parochial: Scott Molfenter, Carroll High School (Ohio)
Molfenter led the Carroll High boys team to its third straight Division II state title. The Patriots went 19-0-4 to extend their unbeaten streak to 60 games.
