Born in Rotterdam, van Bronckhurst started and ended his career with Feyenoord, but in between he
won five league titles with Rangers, Arsenal and Barcelona, a Champions League crown with the Spanish giant, and ended his career by captaining the 2010 World Cup runner-up Dutch squad in South
Africa.
Now 37, and an assistant coach at Feyenoord, this ad regales us with the tale of a young Gio, and how he came to develop a special bond with one member in particular at the
155-year-old zoo, which was cut short by a tragic soccer accident on the piers of Rotterdam.
Set to Feyenoord’s club anthem “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” 28 years after
it began, this tale provided a happy ending …
