Brek Shea's move to Stoke City looks to be back on again, with American soccer bloggerIves Galarcep reporting that the FC Dallas midfielder left for England on Monday to complete a medical after MLS, FC Dallas and Stoke agreed to a transfer fee. Barring a failed physical, the 22-year-old will be joining fellow USA international Geoff Cameron at the Premier League club.
The details of the transfer fee are unknown. Stoke had made an initial $3 million offer for Shea, but FC Dallas wanted $4 million. Coach Tony Pulis was uneasy about the price given Shea’s long-term foot injury and the fact that the club’s coaches hadn’t seen him train, but Galarcep says that once they were given assurances about his health, the move became a matter of passing a physical. The fee will likely be in the region of $3.5 to $4 million.
