Report: Galaxy Would Let Lampard Leave on Loan

British tabloid The Daily Mirror claims that the Los Angeles Galaxy would be willing to loan target Frank Lampard to a big European club for three months -- just as it let David Beckham go out on loan to AC Milan in 2009 and 2010 -- so that the Chelsea legend could stay fit during the MLS off-season next year in the lead-up to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

In addition, the tabloid says that the MLS club is also offering a $4.5 million per salary, a rent-free home in Beverly Hills, and first-class flights between LA and the UK.

Following Lampard’s game-winning goal for England against Brazil earlier this month, coach Roy Hodgson warned the Chelsea midfielder that moving to the United States would not help his England career. While the 34-year-old has said he would prefer to remain at Stamford Bridge, Blues owner Roman Abramovich has refused to sanction new contract talks.

Meanwhile, Lampard scored yet again this weekend against Brentford in Chelsea’s 4-0 FA Cup 4th-round replay win against Brentford, taking his tally to 199 goals for the club, just three shy of Bobby Tambling’s all-time record.
