[CONCACAF UNDER-20 CHAMPIONSHIP] The USA wasn't the only team to come out flat in its opening game at the Concacaf U-20 Championship in Mexico. At least, it came away with a victory. Canada couldn't recover after falling behind 2-0 on a pair of Maykel Reyes goals, and a consolation goal by Montreal Impact U-21 Stefan Vukovic in the 90th minute was the only goal the Canadians could muster in a 2-1 loss on Monday night.

Cuba piled on the pressure after the break and was rewarded when Reyes twice got the better of Canadian captain Doneil Henry and scored in the 70th and 78th minutes.

Nicaragua is the third team in the group.

If the USA advances to the quarterfinals, it will face the first- or second-place team in Group B, depending on where it finishes in Group A.

The four quarterfinal winners will earn berths in the 2013 Under-20 World Cup in Turkey.
