[AMERICANS ABROAD] Jozy Altidore broke the record for goals in a season for an American at a foreign club he shared with Clint Dempsey when he scored his 24th goal of the season in Dutch club AZ's 2-1 loss at RKC.

-- Herculez Gomez
scored two goals and assisted on the third goal as Santos won at Jaguares, 3-1.

-- A back injury forced Tim Howard to sit out Everton's 3-1 win over Reading, ending his streak of 210 consecutive starts, just two shy of the Toffees' record.

-- Of the 11 foreign-based players who played for the USA in its Hexagonal opener, five did not play and a sixth, Michael Bradley, started Roma's game on the bench.

-- Joe Gyau made only his second start and played the entire 90 minutes for the first time in St. Pauli's 1-0 win at Aalen.
