When asked to compare the two Ronaldos -- Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal and Brazilian World Cup winner Ronaldo -- before Tuesday's Champions League
game, Manchester United coach Alex Ferguson referred to the Brazilian "the fat, old one."
"Real Madrid shut his mouth for me," said former World Player of the Year, Ronaldo, who retired in 2011 after being diagnosed with hypothyroidism -- an illness that affects the body's metabolism. "It was a lack of respect. A professional of his age, an English Sir, should not be so disrespectful. It was not classy."
Real Madrid eliminated Man United with a 2-1 win, the winning goal coming from Cristiano.
"I have no words for this gentleman, except that I hope the team he manages always loses," said Ronaldo, who recently lost 30 pounds on a Brazilian reality TV show.
