[ID2 TOUR] The id2 National Selection closed out its 2013 tour to Spain with a 6-1 victory over Girona FC Infantil A. Edwin Lara (Pumas) and Nick Taitague (FC Richmond) led the squad with two goals apiece, and Jose Carranza (D.C. United) and Timothy Weah (BW Gottschee) each added one.

Lara opened the scoring in the ninth minute and struck once again in the 31st, when he dribbled through a cluster of Girona FC defenders before beating the goalkeeper to his left.

Girona FC cut the lead to 2-1 lead at halftime, but the Americans pulled away with four second-half goals.

Lucas del Rosario (CASL) redirected an Anthony Markanich (Chicago Fire Academy) cross into the path of Carranza, who make no mistake in extending the advantage to 3-1.

In the 55th minute, Weah (son of Liberian great George Weah) juggled the ball over a defender and ripped a shot that was saved by the Girona netminder before he knocked in his own rebound.

Taitague closed out the scoring with goals in the 60th and 67th minutes. The first was assisted by Adolfo Trujillo (Ballistic United) and the second was courtesy of a del Rosario assist.
