National League will add under-14 age group

[U.S. YOUTH SOCCER] The U.S. Youth Soccer National League will add under-14 boys and girls age groups for the 2013-2014 season.

Like the current U-15 to U-18 age groups, the U-14 age group will consist of 16 teams divided into two divisions, with each team playing a round-robin schedule against the other seven teams in their division.

The 16 spots in the U-14 age group will be allocated as follows.  The application process for open spot selection for the 2013-2014 season will open around July 9 and close on July 9, 2013.

Each region will send four teams to the National League, two from regional competitions (see below) and two from ab open application process.

Region I:
U-13 Regional Cup Representative to 2013 Nationals
U-13 2013 Premier League Champion
Region II:
U-13 Regional Cup Representative to 2013 Nationals
U-13 Regional Cup Finalist at 2013 Regionals
Region III:
U-13 Regional Cup Representative to 2013 Nationals
U-13 Regional Cup Finalist at 2013 Regionals
Region IV:
U-13 Regional Cup Representative to 2013 Nationals
U-13 2013 FWRL Spring Champion
