[UNDER-20 WORLD CUP] The USA was drawn with European champion Spain, European semifinalist France and an African team for the Under-20 World Cup, which will be held June 21-July 13 in Turkey.

The USA will be based in Istanbul, where it will play in the 52,000-seat Türk Telekom Arena, home of Galatasaray.

Spain won the 2012 UEFA U-19 Championship with a 1-0 win over Greece in the final. It had nine players named to the all-tournament team, including Gerard Deulofeu, who is considered Barcelona's top young prospect.

Spain advanced to the final with a shootout win over France after their game ended in a 3-3 tie. The French feature Samuel Umtiti, who scored a stunning goal for Lyon in its Europa League series against Tottenham, and midfielder Paul Pogba, who has graduated to the full national team after a spectacular debut season with Italian club Juventus.

Africa has yet to finish up qualification.

"I'm really excited for our players, to play against some of the best teams in the world." U.S. U-20 head coach Tab Ramos said. "This is the reason why you go to the World Cup -- to play against the best. We get Spain and France right off the bat and we're going to start working toward our preparation for that."

The USA's Group A matches will be played June 21-27

Well, another "experience" for the Americans! They will again come home and say, "it's been great, we learned alot!" But when in the world will our Federation realize the difference? We need a (1) just (1) "competitive" league in this country to somehow at least compete with this "young" Professional "MEN!" I wish our "American Boys" the very best!

I am rooting for this team big time. I hope they stay true to the style of play that got them to almost beat Mexico!! They will gain the respect finally from these countries no matter how far they get in this tourney. i bet that if they show the same play they did in Qualifying you will see interest from Euro scouts never quite seen before at these vents for our USA young players.
