[DALLAS CUP] The LA Galaxy's bid to reach the semifinals of the Super Group at the Dr Pepper Super Group came up short. It needed to beat Coritiba of Brazil and hope either Danish club Aalborg or Fluminense of Brazil lost its final group game. Neither happened as the Galaxy fell to Coritiba, 3-2, and Fluminense and Aalborg both won, 1-0.

Jaime Villarreal, brother of Galaxy forward Jose Villarreal, and U.S. U-18 Paul Arriola scored for the Galaxy in its loss to Coritiba.

The Galaxy finished with one win and two losses, while the other U.S. representative, the Dallas Texans, lost all three games.

Toronto FC finished with one point, earned with its 2-2 tie with Tigres.
