[CONCACAF UNDER-17 CHAMPIONSHIP] Jamaica has called up Michael Seaton, D.C. United’s 16-year-old forward, for theCONCACAF Under-17 Championship.

Seaton signed with the D.C. United first team on Jan. 14, becoming the fifth homegrown player in D.C. United history.  He is the first player bornafter the inception of Major League Soccer in 1996 to ink a deal with a team in the League.

Seaton, who joined the Jamaica squad Friday, played for Jamaica in CFU qualifying matches,tallying a goal in a 5-0 win against Bermuda and another in a 4-0 win against Antigua & Barbuda.

The U.S. U-17s subsequently called up Seaton, who is also a U.S. citizen, but FIFArules prevent him from representing two different countries at the youth level.
